Vocational training

Lebenshilfe Marburg - Fachschule

Our training opens up prospects

Our training offers you a wide range of theoretical knowledge with a great opportunity to transfer what you have learned into your practical work. Whether you are exploring pedagogical models, psychological explanatory patterns, medical contexts, creative impetus, legal foundations, methodological and didactic concepts and much more, we will support you on your way to becoming a state-certified curative education carer.

You benefit from the combination we offer of theory and practice

On Mondays to Fridays during your first full-time year, you will learn the specialist theoretical foundations of the curative education care profession. Among other things it will cover pedagogy, law, educational media, care, organisation and administration. During two short work placements you will be given the opportunity to gain early experience of working as a curative education carer, putting the knowledge you have acquired into practice under supervision. The second and third years of the course are spent integrating theory and practice closely together. You will work three days a week in a centre for people with disabilities and then spend two days a week at our Vocational Education College. The feedback we have received from our graduates confirms that what they learn in these two places provides the best possible preparation for the demands of the profession. The sheer variety of what is involved means it is never boring. The course starts each year after the Hesse summer holidays.
